Entering our 4th year open at Chalet Soltir, it has been as good as we could have hoped. Below are a few comments left by guests:

Dear Mark & Amy,

I have been meaning to write since we got back to the UK.

I'd like to say a big thank you on behalf of all of us for the wonderful Christmas week that we spent with you. Clearly the skiing and the snow were brill, but our HQ for the week, Chalet Soltir, so comfortable and you both made us feel so welcome that we all relaxed immediately. Thank you specially Amy for feeding us so well. I will not forget 'not being able to move' after a wonderful Christmas dinner and the delicious cakes and coffee, scoffed on return from the piste. Thank you specially Mark for ferrying us all around - far and near, sorting things like the DVD and our transfers, and stoking the fire.

We were all incredibly impressed by what you are both doing with Chalet Soltir. We think you make a great team and we all wish you the best of luck for the remainder of the season. As reported before I left, there is strong feeling amongst us that we should book again for next year right now ..... What more can I say? Oh, I know:

To Mark and Amy,

On behalf of the group I want to say a big thank you for the great trip we had over New Year.

Despite all the tour party getting various illnesses throughout the trip and it being the busiest week of the season it was still up there with the best ski holidays we've ever been on. This is purely due to both your abilities to go out of the way to help us have a good time. Your advice on what to do, where to go and when to go there was perfect. The secret route up the mountain was a god-send and the food every day in the chalet was excellent.

I will recommend Chalet Soltir to anyone and everyone who will listen and there is a good chance I'll be back there next season!

Dear Mark and Amy,

This is just a quick note from all of us who stayed with you for the last week in February to say thank you so much for looking after us so well. The food you served us every night was amazing (much better than any other chalet we've experienced), you gave us some great advice, leant us equipment , partied with us  and even helped us with our injuries! Apart from anything the chalet was fantastic and we had a really good time. I hope we weren't too bad as far as guests go! Please let us know if you're in Oxford at some point in the future as we'd love to take you guys out for a drink. Once again, thanks for all you hard work – it was really appreciated.

I just wanted to say thank you so so much for such an incredible week's skiing you enabled us to have.  From the minute we arrived in Sofia, we just all felt so looked after and can not describe to you how we felt every aspect was such a priority for you and what a difference that made to our holiday.  From the lift in the morning (even if this was a little later than planned!) to the most incredible cakes, recommending and booking fantastic restaurants and of course the all important bars!!

Guys it really was just the most amazing week and on behalf of everyone a huge thank you for everything that you did for us, I can not stop talking about it to everyone and really hope to be back very soon,

A quick message from Russ and Mish who were part of your first guests at Chalet Soltir.  Sincere thanks to both of you for making the week so enjoyable - your hospitality was beyond our expectations and the chalet itself was outstandingly well refurbished.  We are sure you will have many enjoyable years with your new venture. I am sure we will ski in Bansko again and we will look forward to staying with you in the future and of course spreading the word that Chalet Soltir offers a perfect base for boarding and skiing.

Just a quick email to say thanks so much for last week. You couldn't have done more to make the holiday enjoyable with your transfers, hospitality, recommendations for lessons and equipment, lifts to and from the gondola, breakfast, coffee and cakes and (especially!) the babysitting. Congratulations on what you've achieved to date and good luck with the business for the summer and next season. As you know, we're in the process of buying a place out there but would  be happy to recommend others to you and, if possible, give you a call for transfers from Sofia and to meet up for a drink when next out.

We had a fabulous stay at the Chalet Soltir. We visited in August which was beautifully warm and sunny with an abundance of flowers everywhere. Mark and Amy could not have made us more welcome. They have a really comfortable and inviting Chalet to accommodate their guests. Bansko is a very pleasant and interesting town- much better than we imagined. We couldn't believe how cheap everything is – a meal in a restaurant for two including wine for £5 each!! Took a bit of getting used to after UK prices!! All in all a great holiday. Many thanks!
