Getting to and from our ski chalet in Bansko couldn't be easier. Airlines www.wizzair.com Car Rental There is a public bus and two private bus operators that service Bansko from Sofia. They all leave from the bus terminal in Ovcha Kupel several times a day. Tickets are 6 leva one way (around £2). By car it will take you about two hours. If you are driving by yourself, you head towards the town of Pernik and then shortly before Pernik turn south towards Kulata (the Greek border town). After passing Blagoevgrad you have to turn left off the main road towards Simitli and then go east through some smaller mountains about 35 kilometres to Bansko. It's a very straightforward drive. Don't forget to check for snow tires on the car in winter. Many rental cars will have these fitted as standard.
